About Musculoskeletal Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a system of traditional Chinese medicine. It's benefits are now widely recognised and has begun to feature more prominently in mainstream healthcare. Musculoskeletal acupuncture reduces pain, helps enhance and speed up recovery of injuries or chronic conditions.
Acupuncture involves inserting fine, sterile, disposable needles into specific points in the body, into "channels" around the body, a physiological response is stimulated which triggers the body’s natural recovery response. Acupuncture is a favoured treatment of many people suffering with chronic disorders who are looking for a treatment that doesn't involve medication.
Acupuncture can be used for any musculoskeletal conditions such as acute injuries, strains and sprains and chronic conditions such as low back pain, neck pain, old injuries and trauma. However, always consult the physiotherapist first if you are unsure if acupuncture can help with your condition.

Will Acupuncture Help me?
Good results are frequently achieved when more conventional treatments have been tried and failed. Acupuncture does not work for everybody or for every condition, but the effect of acupuncture is usually cumulative and builds up as treatment progresses.
Adverse effects are rare with acupuncture as all needles used are disposable, single use and sterile. Side effects that you may experience are usually mild: such as bruising, slight nausea, sleepiness and residual muscle aching.
